What are damon braces?

Damon-Braces-img2_03

Damon Braces are an advanced innovative way to straighten teeth. Damon Braces make use of the damon system technology, which combines tieless brackets and smart-designed arch wires designed to facilitate alignment with fast and satisfying results. The design protects the health of the teeth and the gums while in treatment. With damon braces, your teeth can move with ease to enhance your facial structure without the need for extractions or palatal expanders. Damon braces use a “passive” slide mechanism to keep the arch wires within the bracket and allow them to move freely.

What are the different types of damon braces?

Just like with regular braces, there are various types of damon system braces. These include:

Damon metal braces look very similar to traditional metal braces. The visible difference is that traditional metal braces have small hooks for elastic bands, whereas damon does not. With damon, you can also see the self-ligating sliding mechanism.
Damon clear braces are made from ceramic and are like traditional clear braces. The bracket is transparent, so the braces are much less visible on your teeth. The difference between damon ceramic braces and other brands is the lack of visible metal parts and elastic ties, making them even less noticeable.

What are the advantages of damon braces?

Less pain

More comfort

Faster treatment

Fewer orthodontist appointments for adjustments

Easier cleaning and better hygiene without elastics

More confidence with a more discreet braces design

A fuller smile without the need for removing teeth or wearing an expander in most cases. Damon braces give you a broader and healthier smile in less time and greater comfort than conventional braces.

What is the cost of damon braces?

The cost will depend on the severity of your malocclusion, and the degree of correction you need. The cost of damon braces is higher than that of traditional metal braces.

At The Dental Boutique, we are pleased to offer payment plans to cover the cost of your orthodontic treatment easily.

Is a retainer needed after damon braces orthodontic treatment?

After your treatment with the damon braces, you may have to wear a retainer at night, just like with regular braces. You may have to wear your retainer during the day as well, depending on your orthodontist’s advice. There are various types of retainers you can choose from, such as Fixed and Essix retainers.

1. How much do Damon braces cost in Dubai?
The cost of Damon braces in Dubai varies based on factors such as the dental clinic, the complexity of the case, and additional services. On average, Damon braces may range from AED 20,000 to AED 35,000 or more.
2. Are Damon braces better?
Damon braces are designed to provide a more comfortable and efficient orthodontic experience. They use a self-ligating system that eliminates the need for elastic ties and reduces friction, potentially resulting in less discomfort and faster treatment progress for some patients.
3. What is the age limit for Damon braces?
There is no strict age limit for Damon braces. They can be suitable for both teenagers and adults, and their effectiveness is determined more by individual orthodontic needs than age.
4. How painful are Damon braces?
Damon braces are often reported to be less painful than traditional braces due to their self-ligating design. Patients may experience some discomfort, especially after adjustments, but the overall experience is generally considered more comfortable.
5. Does braces change face shape?
Braces primarily address the alignment of teeth and jaw positioning, which can indirectly influence facial appearance. However, the impact on face shape is typically minimal and varies among individuals.
6. Which is better: Invisalign or Damon?
The choice between Invisalign and Damon braces depends on individual preferences and orthodontic needs. Invisalign offers a more discreet appearance, while Damon braces may be preferred for their efficiency in certain cases. Consulting with an orthodontist helps determine the most suitable option.
7. Do Damon braces require tightening?
Damon braces use a self-ligating system that eliminates the need for traditional tightening. However, periodic adjustments may still be necessary to advance the treatment.
8. Do Damon braces get tightened?
While Damon braces do not require the traditional tightening associated with elastic ties, they may require periodic adjustments to progress the treatment.
9. Can braces fix your jawline?
Braces can help address misalignments of the teeth and jaw, which may contribute to improvements in facial symmetry. However, the extent to which braces impact the jawline varies among individuals.
10. How to tell the difference between a dentist and an orthodontist?
Dentists and orthodontists are both dental professionals, but orthodontists undergo additional specialized training in the correction of dental and facial irregularities. While dentists provide general oral care, orthodontists focus on the diagnosis, prevention, and correction of misalignments.
11. Do orthodontists do more than braces?
Yes, orthodontists offer a range of treatments beyond braces, including Invisalign, retainers, and other orthodontic appliances. They specialize in correcting various dental and facial irregularities to improve oral health and aesthetics.
